Privacy Policy

The short version

Inksnail has no accounts and no ads, and it does not track you across other apps or websites. Your coloring stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud.

We collect anonymous usage statistics to learn which parts of the app work, and a record of your subscription if you have one. Neither is tied to your name or email address.

This policy covers the Inksnail app for iPhone and iPad, made by Nezted.

Usage statistics

Inksnail uses Google Analytics for Firebase to count what happens in the app. This includes which worlds are opened and finished, how long a coloring session lasts, which screens lead to a subscription, and the answers you pick in the short questions when you first open the app.

Firebase attaches a random identifier for this installation of the app, along with general information such as your device model, iOS version, language and country. We do not collect the advertising identifier, we have turned off advertising features, and we do not use this data for advertising.

Subscriptions

Purchases are made through Apple. We never see your payment details.

We use RevenueCat to know whether Inksnail Plus is active. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier for the app and Apple’s record of the purchase, not your name or email address. It also passes purchase events to our usage statistics, so we can see which parts of the app lead to a subscription.

Your pictures

What you color is saved on your device. If iCloud is turned on for Inksnail, your progress syncs through your private iCloud storage, which we cannot read.

When you save a video or a picture, Inksnail asks for permission to add it to your photo library. It can only add; it cannot see the photos you already have.

Downloading worlds

Coloring pages are downloaded from our content servers, which are run by Cloudflare. As with any internet request, those servers see your IP address. We do not use it to identify you.

Reminders

If you allow notifications, Inksnail can remind you before a free trial ends or at a time you choose. These reminders are scheduled on your device and are not sent from our servers.

When you write to us

If you email us for help, to send feedback or to claim a reward, we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as a link to your post. We use it to answer you and, for rewards, to send your code. We keep it only as long as we need it for that.

Who handles this data

We do not sell your data. It is handled for us by these companies, under their own policies:

Children

Inksnail is made for a general audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your choices

Deleting Inksnail removes everything it stored on your device. Progress kept in iCloud can be removed in the Settings app, under your Apple Account and iCloud storage.

You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by writing to inksnail@nezted.com. Because the statistics are not tied to your name, we may need your help to find the right records.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. If the change is significant, we will say so in the app.

Terms of Use

The short version

By using Inksnail you agree to these terms. What you color is yours. The line art is ours. Inksnail Plus is a subscription that renews until you cancel it.

Your license

Inksnail is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to that agreement. Where the two disagree about Inksnail, these terms apply.

Inksnail Plus

Inksnail Plus is an optional subscription that unlocks all worlds and tools. It is offered weekly or yearly, and the yearly plan may start with a free trial. The price is shown in the app before you confirm.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • A free trial turns into a paid subscription when it ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies.

Free time on Plus

We sometimes give free time on Plus, for example for posting a video of Inksnail. Those offers have their own reward rules.

What you make

The colored pictures and videos you make in Inksnail are yours to keep and to share, including on social media.

What we make

The app, its line art and its worlds belong to Nezted. You may use them inside the app for your own enjoyment. You may not sell or redistribute the uncolored line art, copy the worlds out of the app, or use them to build another product.

Fair use of the app

Do not try to break, copy or reverse engineer Inksnail, get around its purchases, or use it for anything unlawful.

Changes to the app

We add worlds and features over time, and may change or remove some. We will try not to take away anything you rely on without good reason.

No warranty

Inksnail is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Nezted is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law of your country.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Using Inksnail after a change means you accept it.

Get Plus free

How it works

Post a video of Inksnail. The more people like it, the longer your free time on Plus.

Likes on your postFree time on Plus
101 month
503 months
1001 year

Steps

  1. Make a video of Inksnail: record your screen while you color, film your tablet, or use a video the app made. Your own edit counts too.
  2. Post it on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Threads or X, from a public account, with #inksnail.
  3. When it has enough likes, open Inksnail, tap “Get Plus free”, paste the link and send it. Attach a screenshot of the post.

We look at the post and email a code within 3 working days. Tap the link in that email, or enter the code in Settings under “Redeem a code”.

The rules

  • Inksnail must be on screen in the video, and the post must carry #inksnail.
  • The post must be public and still up when we look at it.
  • The likes must be real. Bought or traded likes do not count.
  • Every video can earn, and there is no limit on how many you send. A code for the same length of time can be used once per Apple Account; if you already have Plus, the free time starts when your current period ends.
  • The free time simply ends. Nothing is charged and there is nothing to cancel.
  • Codes are from Apple and work for a limited time: use yours soon after it arrives.
  • Say in your post that you can get a reward for it, where the platform or your country’s rules ask for that.
  • The reward is for posting a video. It is never for a rating or a review on the App Store.
  • We may refuse a claim that breaks these rules, and we may change or end the reward. A claim sent before a change is honoured under the rules of the day it was sent.
